About BC Oral Biopsy Service (BC OBS)
For over 35 years, the BC OBS has been offering Anatomic Pathology Service on all biopsies of oral cavity across the province. The BC OBS is currently operated under the leadership of Dr. Lewei Zhang and Dr. Catherine Poh at the Vancouver General Hospital, and currently receives over 5,000 biopsies every year.
Originally founded by Dr. Robert Priddy in 1980, the initiative was to build a centralized hub of pathology review service which all community health professionals can rely on for patient care. When patients and clinicians know more, they can make better choices sooner and plan the next steps. BC OBS affirms bringing the right diagnosis in a timely fashion and makes its top priority.
